The Financial Superintendence (SFC) arose from the merger of the Banking Superintendence of Colombia and the Securities Superintendence. As an integrated financial supervisory authority, our mission is that of preserving public confidence, guaranteeing financial stability, as well as promoting financial inclusion and innovation in the financial sector. This institution is a technical body under the Ministry of Finance, with legal, administrative and financial autonomy and its own funding. Our mission is that of public confidence and the stability of the financial system; maintain the integrity, efficiency and transparency of the stock market and other financial assets; and ensure respect for the rights of financial consumers and due service provision.

We supervise and issue secondary level regulation for the entire financial services industry in Colombia, including banking, insurance and securities market activities. Our supervisory scope extends to regulated Fintech activities such as digital banking, e-money services, crowdfunding platforms and Insurtech.
